Progress Toward Ground Breaking

The Building Committee has been working hard with the contractor and the current projection is to break ground on The Next Generation addition (on the west end of the Wausau Campus) in early September.  The West Lobby and existing rooms will remain functional until the new portion is complete in late winter.  At that point the new and old portions will be joined together, the west end of the building and southwest hallway/lobby remodeled and occupancy of the entire area can occur before school ends in 2016.  Watch for details of the building plans to be released soon.

With a goal of 2.5 million, it is not too late to participate in The Next Generation Capital Campaign!  We’ve had an additional $12,000 pledged, over three years, in June alone.  If you are new to Highland and would like to know more about this Children’s addition please visit The Next Generation home page to watch a video and see more details of how you can be involved (or pick up a Next Generation packet in any of our campus lobbies).

Ground Breaking Date

The Next Generation Building Update: We are excited to announce a ground breaking ceremony at the Wausau Campus on Sunday, September 6, after the service. The
big equipment is scheduled to arrive on September 9! The building plans are in the final stages. We will have a layout to share in the upcoming weeks on this page.

After September 9, the west entrance and a portion of the west parking lot will be blocked off (even though classrooms, the coffee area, and lobby will remain functional). This area will be a hard hat/authorized worker only area. Please help us by keeping an eye on the youngest of our congregation and letting others understand the need for safety by staying clear of the outside construction area. To date, we have 244 out of 700 families participating. Thank you to the new family that joined the campaign in August. The total amount pledged, over three years, is $1,773,780 with $536,025 received to date.
