Missions

Matthew 28 records Jesus final words to His disciples before ascending back to heaven. With His final words, He commissions the church to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” Disciple making is the primary mission of the church. At Highland, we take that calling very seriously both locally and globally.

On a local level, we encourage our members to see themselves as Christ’s ambassadors. In whatever place God has placed each of us, we seek to share the hope of the gospel with everyone around us. We also encourage our members to make an impact through community involvement.

Our global mission strategy takes two primary forms. First, we support missionaries and mission organizations all around the world that have a similar heart and vision for the unreached that we do. We believe it is crucial to support our long-term missionaries by actively building relationships with them, regularly praying for them, and financially supporting their work. Second, we encourage Highland attenders to go and serve on short-term gospel focused mission trips with our strategic mission partners. Some of those trips include serving in places like the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ethiopia, and many other regions of the world.
