Our Missionaries
What is the mission of the church?
To understand what true, biblical “missions” looks like, we must first understand the mission of the church itself. One missionally minded theologian puts it this way:
“The church’s task in the world is to partner with God as He establishes shalom and brings His reign and rule to bear on the peoples and places of the earth.”
Scripture gives us a foundational picture of this mission. In Matthew 28 and Acts 1, Jesus commissions His followers to make disciples of all nations—by going, baptizing, and teaching. As His Kingdom ambassadors (II Corinthians 5), we are sent to implore both neighbors and nations to be reconciled to God.
This calling is urgent. That is why Highland Community Church is committed to being a missional, disciple-making church—one that impacts our local neighborhoods, regional communities, nation, and the world.
Right now, we are privileged to partner with over 40 missionaries / organizations in 21 countries who are faithfully living out this mission.
