A Step Forward

The congregation voted to approve the Church taking out a construction loan to cover some expenses of the Next Generation addition at the Wausau Campus.  The builder, who was awarded the project, was announced at the meeting and we hope to have the building enclosed by Thanksgiving so that the contractors interior work can continue in winter.  Any Highland businesses wishing to bid on electrical, drywall, plumbing, flooring, etc... should contact Pastor Ken at the church office.  Below are some initial drawings of the building:

How Did We Get Here? (with map)

For thirty years, Highland Community Church has been “helping people take the next step in their relationship with Christ” and for thirty years we have been blessed with consistent growth. Now it’s time for Highland’s Wausau Campus to take its next step with a Phase 4 facility addition. We have been asking Highland attenders to pray about God’s leading for The Next Generation since the fall of 2014; but it’s taken much more time than that to get to this point.

Regular Highland attenders had an article in their church mailboxes in March detailing the ten year process. It is available on the previous blog post if you missed it.

So what might Phase 4 look like? Below is a rough mock-up of the building plan that could be started in late June if we are able to raise $2.5 million in gifts or 3-year pledges. (Remodeling of some youth rooms, and acquiring videostream ability would also be included in that goal). The version below is meant to show children/lobby areas only with the light gray representing remodel of existing west/south areas and dark gray being the new addition.
